I was asked by Gaia to design the Netherlands national kit for the World Junior Ultimate Championships 2014, which was a great honour and a really exciting opportunity. The kit is now being used for all other Netherlands national teams, including the mixed team attending WCBU 2015.
I was required to make use of the classic orange, with a black away shirt and a lion on the front of the jerseys.
The orange jerseys featured a subtle pinstripe pattern in the background, with the pattern reversed for large NED letters on the back of the shirt (the three-letter IOC code for the Netherlands). On the front, the lion graphic is repeated in a similar manner.
The juniors loved the shirts, and they proved popular with other countries too, prompting competitors to arrange shirt and shorts trades in advance of the tournament via Facebook and Instagram.
